'Pearls' which very few know about as 'tears of God'. A work of fiction, 'The Pearl' by Jone Steinbeck, reveals such an instance where a simple boy of La Paz gets into trouble after he gets a big Pearl from the sea. This book delivers too messages as it progresses from the starting towards the end. Firstly, Innocence and Simplicity has no value in this ruthless world, and the most important thing is Ignorance. The poor pearl diver was not educated that such a thing would occur after he found the Pearl. A simple story that is written in the most simplest words tells us about the hardships which the young lad goes through. He fights with the cruelty and evil of his own people. But could not do well for long. He loses his son in this battle which makes him give up. He gave back the pearl to the sea thinking it to be a cursed one. This book of fiction although contains only 34 pages has set a good moral for the readers. The author has focused on the vices of humanism which we, as common people, generally overlook. However, by reading this book, the readers will get a chance to analyze themselves and understand how to act with others who are as simple and innocent like the protagonist 'Kino'.
